Palacio de Cristal which was built in 1887.
A fantastic jazz band in Retiro Park on Christmas Day. We had such a good time people watching and checking out the beautiful park.
Palacio de Telecommunicaciones in Plaza Cibeles. Very impressive architecture.
Lots of people out and about just hanging out at Xmas time in the Puerta del Sol.
Hola,
We just got back from spending 9 nights in Spain and had an awesome time there.
There is so much to see there and getting around is easy and fast on the underground metro system. The most we waited for a train to come was 7 minutes. Usually the trains would arrive in about 3 minutes and they were clean and graffiti free.
The weather was fine and a bit warmer then Edinburgh, but not by a whole lot! Our accomodation was good in Madrid and Barcelona..except for the last night in Barcelona at the Airport hotel we stayed in..there was too much noise from our neighbours and we probably would have been better saving our money and sleeping in the airport! Interestingly, the hotels in Spain dont offer coffee making facilities in their rooms.
We enjoyed the spanish quisine..Paella, Tortilla (Spanish Omelette's which are like a normal omelette but with potato and they are cooked more slowly than the usual omelletes), Tapas, Chocolate con Churros (long donut type food that is dipped in thick hot chocolate and is the rage with the madrideleno's) and of course Sangria!
The people were friendly and we managed to interact with them reasonably well considering most of them couldnt speak english.
There was so much to do in Spain and so many beautiful buildings and plaza's.
