At the end of July, we joined 47,000 other people and visited Holyrood Park to attend The Gathering.
According to http://www.clangathering.org/, The Gathering is a celebration of Scotland’s culture, clans and families.
There were lots of Scottish food stalls, beer tents, and Clan tents where you could go and talk to other clan members. (kind of stitched Kirsty up with that one..There was a tent for the Macallum clan which she is related to, so I kind of mentioned it to the guy who was head of it and he rabbited on and on to poor Kirsty!) : )
There was a whisky tasting tent and I tried some really nice Tallisker whisky called 57 degrees North. I really liked it but it was for sale at £50 a bottle..bit out of my price range.
We got to see Highland Games, saw a speech by Prince Charles and just had a nice day out.
