Spain - Toledo

Looking up to the Alcazar. The Alcázar of Toledo is a stone fortification located in the highest part of Toledo, Spain. Once used as a Roman palace in the 3rd century, it was restored under Alfonso VI and Alfonso X and renovated in 1535. (got that from Wikipedia!)

We took a day trip out to a town called Toledo when we were in Madrid.
It took 30 minutes on the high speed train to reach Toledo which is 70kms south of Madrid.
Toledo is a lovely town and is listed as a Unesco world heritage site.
There are lots of windy narrow streets and alleyways to explore and quite a few interesting shops.
The town is known for producing iron and in particular swords and pocket knives, so every second shop is selling replica swords and lots of pocket knives.
