These are pictures from the "Englischer Garten" - thats german for English Garden. It is one of the largest city parks in the world, at over 920 acres, and we walked from one end to the other! People in Munich flock to the park, particularly on nice summer days and when we were there the sun was shining so a lot of people were out and about.
This is alongside the lake in the park, where there was a large beer garden.
Enjoying a nice cool stein of beer - thats a litre!! The most popular beer is a radler in Germany - thats when they include lemonade pop in the beer, its pretty good.
This is overlooking the meadow in the gardens. Its where a lot of people come to sunbathe, and if you look closely at the picture, you may be unlucky enough to spot the naked sunbathers as there is a part of the garden where people are allowed to sunbathe nude!
At the beginning of the park is this artificial surfing spot - where the river comes out of a drain, running very fast and hits the artificial reef. There were a number of guys surfing when we there.
