One of the best things in Munich, is definitely the food - and the beer to go with it. There are a number of local dishes - sausages particularly bratwurst, and wiesswurst (white sausage), pork hocks, schnitzel, bretzels, and sauerkraut! And for dessert, theres "apfelstrudel" (apple strudel) and Munich dumplings.

Above is the schnitzel - Kirsty had this many times over the weekend. Unlike in NZ, the Germans serve this with cranberries, and its really good!

This band is playing inside Hofbraus House. Hofbraus House is one of the best known pubs in the world - it is a massive beer hall, with long bench tables where you sit whereever you can find a seat - we ended up sitting next to a couple of aussies. We were right in front of the band. They particularly like to play drinking songs in Hofbraus - even the band was drinking. There is also a large beer garden, which is great on a hot day.

Enjoying only a couple of steins at Hofbraus!!

This is outside one of the butchers at the market in Munich. Yum!
