Munich - Hohenschwangau

The other castle that we visted was Hohenschwangau. This was the summer residence for the Kings in the 19th century.

Hohenschwangau castle is famous for a couple of things - you can view 100 year old bread (yummy!) and it contains a piano that Richard Wagner composed a number of operas on, based on the stories in the paintings in the castle.

Both the castles that we visited are nestled at the foot of the alps, next to a lake. It was a beautiful area as you can see from these photos!
