Over Easter, we went to Munich for four nights. Munich is famous for its Octoberfest where lots of people go to drink beer in large beer halls. But its also home of the BMW museum, numerous old churches, and some good food!

Below is the view from the top of the Peterskirche church. There are 306 stairs to the top, where there is a tiny viewing platform around the edge of the church, where barely two people can get past each other. However its a great view. The two buildings below are the two most famous in Munich - the Frauenkirche church and the Marienplatz new town hall. Both of the churches were destroyed during the war and reconstructed from the rubble.

This is another view of the Marienplatz. There is a large glockenspiel in the tower, which is meant to play at 11am every day - but we were there on Good Friday and they cancelled the performance due to an easter procession!

This is one of the medieval gates into the old city, called Isator.

Below is part of the garden of the Residence, an old palace.
